Psychedelia Reset – Week 2 – Plan and Crew + Jon’s side trip

So this week we’ll continue the reset from Psychedelia by filling in the front of the Hueco and the Beach.  There are only a few weeks before the next comp, so once we do light fill on all the walls we’ll just keep adding more problems in the regular rotation without stripping anything until the next comp.  That means if you have a project, you have ’til December 2nd (Beach & Dojo closed) or 3rd (whole gym closed) to climb it before we start stripping for SBS VI Comp 3 – The Highball/Highline Comp.

Last week we set 4 days.  We started on the River Wall, then set the Font, then the Dojo, and then on Thursday Jon was gone down to New Mexico to guest set the Yank n Yard Comp some other awesome comp, Jonny was back at his hospital job, and Garrett was sick, so Danny and I came in and did light fill on the back of the Hueco boulder to tweak the problem grade bell-curve towards ideal.  There are a bunch of problems of every grade in the gym, from 1 to 5+, and we’re going to keep adding more Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

The crew is going to be a little different these next few weeks since Jon is heading to Switzerland to join Carlo.  They will be back for the Highline/Highball Comp the first weekend in December.  Til then, Jonny has a better hospital schedule, so he’ll be able to come in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this month, I’ll be around, as will Garrett, Jay Jay (Wednesdays only) and our buddy Danny, whose help has been invaluable these last couple of weeks when everyone’s schedules were wacky.  Plus, he’s fun to hang out with.

I’ll try to do an update with pics about what we set tomorrow, or just come down to the gym and check it out for yourself!
