Eindhoven IFSC Bouldering World Cup 2011 Semifinal Results

I got up bright and early this morning to watch semis live, but I didn’t think things through thoroughly (try saying that five times fast) and missed it by an hour or so.   Luckily the IFSC has gotten really fast about updating online results, so, without further ado, here they are.  The only American in finals is Daniel Woods, who qualified in 3rd.  Nice job Daniel!!!

Men’s Semis Results

1. Kilian Fischhuber   AUT    3/4   4/5

2. Dmitry Sharafutdinov   RUS   3/6   4/12

3. Daniel Woods   USA   3/6   3/5

4. Dave Barrans   GBR   2/5   3/8

5. Francois Kaiser   FRA   2/6   4/9

6. Thomas Caleyron   FRA   2/8   3/5

———————————–

7. Guillaume Glairon Mondet   FRA   1/1   4/4*

*note that Guillaume is one of only 5 competitors to get all 4 bonus holds, and the only competitor to flash to all of them. Unfortunately for him (at least in this instance) these comps are scored first by tops, then by attempts to top, then by bonus holds, so it wasn’t enough to get him into finals. Also interesting that the 7th place competitor only did 1 semis problem! Perhaps the setters made things overly hard after the multiple ties the day before, or perhaps they intended for the finalists to have to really prove themselves to make finals.  If that is the case, the 3 sends by Daniel, Dmitry, and Kilian are even more impressive.

8. Cédric Larchat   SUI   1/1   3/10
