Welcome Back Bash! And the 2011 Junior World Championships for Lead & Speed…

…just happened.   The American team did ok, the proudest probably being Sasha DiGiulian who managed a 3rd place finish in the female junior category.  She actually tied with #2 Johanna Ernst (AUT) in qualis and on the final, but she fell lower in the semi so she ended up in 3rd.  The first place junior female was Julia Serriére (FRA) who fell lower than Sasha in the semis and only beat Sasha and Johanna by one hold in finals–propelling her into first place where, had she tied with them, she would have otherwise ended up in 3rd with Sasha in 2nd and Johanna in 1st.  Such is the nature of competition climbing.  In any case, here is a link to those results, and if you click on it you can use the drop down menu to see how the rest of the categories fared.

Don’t forget to come to The Spot’s Welcome Back Bash tomorrow evening!  From 5-9pm it is $7 for climbing, burgers, and Avery beer.  There will be several guest DJs and we will be offering membership discounts, etc…  Bring your friends!
